the kitchen at Château Chenonceau

I recently posted a photo of the kitchen at château Gaillard in Amboise.  Today I'm showing you part of the kitchen at château Chenonceau.  Both châteaux date back to the 16th century, and both are well equipped to handle royal appetites.  I'll bet you're wondering where you can pick up your own boar's head trophy for your kitchen.

  1. Not me. I'm not wondering. Any brocante should yield at least one item of taxidermy. Boars heads are probably amongst the more tasteful taxidermy available. I've seen those butchers hook frames at brocantes too. The thing of real value in your picture is the magnificent butchers block, big enough to take a whole carcass, and clearly much used in the past.

    1. Yes, I love that butchers block. Given the wear on it, I can only imagine how many years it was in use. End grain is really tough stuff.
