the floor of the cathedral at Orléans

Last week I revisited the cathedral at Orléans only to find that I had not really seen/apprciated the stone floor on previous visits.  To me it has a very modern look... or is it that the modern look is often just a simplified reflection of classic design?

  1. It is a well worn floor. It is an impressive building associated with Joan of Arc, I read. Nice to see a photo that draws attention to this historic floor.

    1. Yes, indeed, the presence of Joan of Arc permeates the town. There is of course a beautiful statue of her on horseback down the street.

  2. Je pense que c'est intemporel et l'échiquier est propice à la méditation.

    1. Vous avez raison. Je trouve que la régularité est très apaisant.
